    Evan Fournier.

Evan Fournier has spent the last 12 years in the NBA, with his most successful period coming during his time with the Orlando Magic. However, he has struggled to earn a consistent spot within an NBA rotation in recent years.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Fournier has called time on his NBA career and is heading back to Europe. He is reportedly signing with Greek team Olympiacos, where he will participate in the Euroleague and the Greek Basket League.

Fournier leaves the NBA with career averages of 13.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists, shooting 44.1% from the field and 37.4% from three-point range.

As a French national, a move back to Europe makes sense for Fournier. He will be closer to home, he can embrace a big role on one of the best teams on the continent and his schedule will be considerably lighter.

At 31-years-old, Fournier has multiple years left of high-level basketball. It's better to spend those final years playing consistently rather than being glued to the bench like he was during his tenure with the New York Knicks. We've all seen how much better Fournier looks when playing under FIBA rules whenever he's suiting for the French national team.

Fournier's move to Europe is a smart decision. He enjoyed a highly respectable career in the NBA. Now, he can focus on carving out the final chapter of his story and potentially leaving a lasting impression on the European leagues.

That way, once he hangs up his sneakers, he can look back on his time as a professional and know that he succeeded everywhere he went, even if it wasn't always easy.
