Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (17) has a word with wide receiver Stefon Diggs (14) in 2023.

Buffalo Bills players haven’t shied away from speaking about the significant change they’ve noticed inside the locker room now that receiver Stefon Diggs is gone.

That includes quarterback Josh Allen, who had an awkward interaction last month in which he essentially said he didn’t miss having Diggs around.

During a recent interview with SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio, Allen did it again, this time in a less indirect way, while raving about his new rookie receiver, Keon Coleman.

“[Coleman is] going to be an exciting player for us,” Allen said . “He’s got a different skill set than maybe what I’m used to. I don’t know if I’ve had the type of skill set that he brings to the table as an option before. His ability to go jump and catch back shoulder balls, be strong at the point of the catch. He takes blocking in the run game with a lot of pride.”

While Allen could have been simply praising his new teammate and nothing more, the phrase “different skill set than what I’m used to” seemed a subtle shot at the former All-Pro wideout, who came under fire for not giving a total effort at times last season.

Diggs has taken shots at the Bills this offseason, most recently during an interview with GQ Sports, where he discussed how disastrous his last seasons in Buffalo were.

“Last year, I was in the worst mental space I’ve been in since I’ve been in the league,” Diggs told GQ. “If I’m not in a good space, obviously, that’s not the best for me. So that’s when things had to start shaking out.”
