Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets quarterback Haynes King.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are ranked for the first time since 2015 and looking to prove their epic 24-21 Week 0 win over then-No. 10 Florida State in Dublin was more than just the luck of the Irish.

The No. 23-ranked team in the country is taking on Syracuse in New York on Saturday, and a win would legitimize its potential dark horse pursuit of the ACC crown.

Quarterback Haynes King made a play that could spark that pursuit to new heights, breaking a first-quarter tackle in the backfield that looked like a sure sack and rushing 21 yards for a touchdown.

The score tied the game at 7-7 and prevented Syracuse from swinging momentum fully in its favor after finding the endzone on its first drive.

Georgia Tech is 2-0 for the first time since 2016, and its schedule isn't going to get any easier.

After Saturday's bout with Syracuse, the Yellow Jackets will face five Top 25 opponents the rest of the season — including No. 22 Louisville (Sept. 21), No. 5 Notre Dame (Oct. 19), No. 12 Miami (Nov. 9), No. 24 NC State (Nov. 19) and No. 1 Georgia (Nov. 29).

A win on Saturday would give Georgia Tech its first 3-0 start since it went 5-0 to start the 2014 season .

Since the inception of the ACC in 1953, Georgia Tech is surprisingly tied for third in conference titles with just one (1990).
