Oklahoma State's Ollie Gordon II (0) and Brennan Presley (80) celebrate following the team's win over Arkansas.

On an afternoon that nearly saw as many as five Top 25 teams fall to unranked opponents, one of them escaped in the wildest of ways after exchanging blows throughout the fourth quarter .

No. 16 Oklahoma State took a 31-28 lead with seconds remaining on a go-ahead field goal against SEC foe Arkansas on Saturday.

But the Razorbacks found a way to charge down the field and kick a game-tying field goal of their own with just two seconds to play.

The game went to overtime where both teams astonishingly missed-field goal attempts within the 25-yard line.

For a time, it appeared as if neither team wanted to win. But Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II broke the deadlock in double overtime, finding the end zone with a 12-yard run, then converting the required two-point conversion to put the Cowboys up 39-31.

A fourth-down stand on defense sealed the victory for the No. 16 team in the country, avoiding the upset in Stillwater, Okla.

The craziest part of the game was the stat line. Arkansas outgained Oklahoma State in every facet of the game , accruing a grand total of 648 all-purpose yards (416 passing, 232 rushing) — and still lost the game.

Arkansas' total offense Saturday is the fourth-most this year in the FBS and the sixth-most in program history . It was the first time Arkansas recorded more than 600 yards since 2016.

Oklahoma State managed 385 total yards, the vast majority of it through the air.

The Cowboys will next take on Tulsa while Arkansas moves on to UAB on Sept. 14.
