Watch: Raiders RB Alexander Mattison hurdles over Chargers CB, scores 31-yard TD

Las Vegas Raiders running back Alexander Mattison's first touchdown of the season should go on a highlight reel.

With just under a minute remaining in the first quarter and the Los Angeles Chargers leading 3-0, Mattison caught a swing pass from quarterback Gardner Minshew II and hurdled over Bolts cornerback Asante Samuel Jr., scoring a 31-yard touchdown.

Mattison replaced former Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook in 2023 but struggled to become a bona fide RB1. In 16 games with the Vikings, he only rushed for 700 yards and no touchdowns on 180 carries. He also recorded 30 receptions for 192 yards and three TDs.

In free agency, the Raiders signed Mattison to a one-year, $2M deal to be a backup for starter Zamir White.

While he may not be a star, Mattison could become a solid contributor for the Raiders, who are trying to replace former Pro Bowl RB Josh Jacobs. Jacobs signed a four-year, $48M deal with the Green Bay Packers in free agency.
