'NFL RedZone' host apologizes for 'unfair and inconsiderate' comment about Tom Brady

    Scott Hanson.

Tom Brady made his Fox broadcasting debut during the Week 1 contest between the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

In one of the more interesting moments of the Cowboys' 33-17 win, Dallas kicker Brandon Aubrey came on to kick a 66-yard field goal before the end of the first half. Aubrey booted the kick through the uprights (which would have tied Justin Tucker’s NFL record), but a delay-of-game call wiped out the play.

The Cowboys then considered sending Aubrey out for a 71-yard field goal attempt but decided to throw a Hail Mary instead.

"NFL RedZone" host Scott Hanson wasn't thrilled with Brady's level of excitement (or lack thereof) during the moment.

"Oh come on,” Hanson said. “Brady has gotta get more excited than that in the booth.”

The 53-year-old apologized to the GOAT on social media on Monday morning.

It didn't sound like there was any malicious intent behind Hanson's words on Sunday, but the apology will likely fend off any criticism from Brady backers.

Brady, play-by-play partner Kevin Burkhardt and sideline reporters Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi will follow the Cowboys to Dallas in Week 2 for their matchup against the New Orleans Saints at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
