Connor Stalions talks Michigan, Jim Harbaugh in new interview

Connor Stalions is apparently now an expert on Michigan football, So much so that CBS Sports interviewed him and asked him to discuss the current state of the Wolverines.

This is a bit shocking because Stalions is at the center of a sign-stealing controversy that could land Michigan and new head coach Sherrone Moore in some hot water with the NCAA. The "powers that be" in Ann Arbor likely want Michigan's brand as far away from Stalions as possible, but that's been impossible to do.

People have been fired , Jim Harbaugh skipped town for the NFL and is now the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, and several people, including Harbaugh, have been accused of Level 1 violations by the NCAA. And yet here's Stalions, giving his thoughts on the Wolverines' 31-12 loss to No. 3 Texas last weekend.

"Look at Michigan; you could easily blame this on Sherrone," Stalions told Dennis Dodd . "Well, let's be real. Losing J.J. McCarthy, Blake Corum and 11 other draft picks to the NFL makes a difference. My opinion of it from a fan perspective is the way that this team responds in the next couple of weeks will show that the culture remains. They're just caught in transition right now."

Not only did Stalions take some time to play analyst with CBS Sports, but he also revealed that some at Michigan wouldn't mind seeing in Ann Arbor again in an official capacity. Right now, he's a high school football coach.

"I get a lot of support from various people about eventually bringing me back [to Michigan]," Stalions said.

Ultimately, much of Stalions' future as a college coach comes down to an NCAA investigation that will likely wrap up in early 2025, per Dodd.

As Dodd points out, Stalions does have one high-profile contact in the NFL in the coach who hired him as an analyst at Michigan: Harbaugh.

"I don't know," Stalions said when asked if Harbaugh would pick up the phone if he called.
