Patrick Mahomes shares thoughts on Dylan Raiola copying his pregame routine

Social media had a field day over the summer talking about Nebraska freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola and his striking resemblance to Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes.

It appears Raiola has since fully embraced the Mahomes comparison, adopting the two-time NFL MVP’s pregame routine of running out onto the field, jumping into the air and flexing before heading back over to the sidelines.

But how does Mahomes feel about being mimicked by his 19-year-old doppelganger who wears the same No. 15 that he does? He addressed that very topic with reporters Wednesday after practice.

“It's cool, honestly,” Mahomes said . “I was that guy, grew up watching players. I loved Alex Rodriguez, played shortstop and would try to make plays just like that. It helped me become the athlete that I am. It's just telling me that I'm getting a little old.”

Mahomes actually knows Raiola on a personal level. The two worked out together during the offseason, and the Cornhusker freshman has worked out a few times with Bobby Stroupe, who’s trained Mahomes since he was in elementary school.

The physical comparison to Raiola has come up before for Mahomes.

Over the summer Raiola was going viral for showing up to Nebraska training camp looking identical to Mahomes with the exact same facial hair under his chin and he was even wearing Patrick Mahomes II Signature Series sunglasses.

Many people brought the tweet to Mahomes’ attention, and he gave the freshman QB a tip of the cap, responding to the photo with the caption “That’s my lil cuzzo.”
