    Fox Sports broadcaster Greg Olsen.

After months of speculation regarding whether the day would ever come, Greg Olsen officially found himself relegated to Fox's No. 2 announcing team last weekend so that Tom Brady could begin serving as the network's lead in-game analyst.

Olsen nevertheless still holds no animosity toward Brady amid what has to be somewhat of an awkward situation for the former players.

"I want him to do well," Olsen said about Brady during a recent conversation with Richard Deitsch of The Athletic. "I want him to succeed. I want him to feel I’m a good teammate. It’s no different than if he came into the locker room when I was a player and we happened to play the same position. My success is not contingent upon Tom. Tom being really good doesn’t make me less good, and Tom being bad doesn’t make me better."

Olsen revealed earlier in the spring he was one of the many broadcasters who offered Brady advice as the seven-time Super Bowl champion spent portions of the offseason preparing for his Fox gig. Brady ultimately received mixed reviews among fans and media personalities for his call of last Sunday's game between the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns.

Brady and Fox agreed to a 10-year deal reportedly worth $375M following the 2021 season, and that agreement has him on track to call Super Bowl LIX with lead play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt this coming February. Some previously suggested that Fox could add Olsen to the Brady-Burkhardt crew at least for the Super Bowl, but Olsen said in late August that the network hadn't yet approached him about such a setup.

"I would love to be part of the Super Bowl, but no one has brought any of that up to me as of today," Olsen told Deitsch. "Whether that’s the plan or not, I have no idea. But I’d love to be a part of it. There’s a lot of different ways to weave different talent into a broadcast, but we’ve had no conversations as of yet."

Fox seems happy to let Brady learn on the job working games that would've been called by Olsen last September such as this Sunday's matchup between the Cowboys and New Orleans Saints. If Brady doesn't start to sound more polished by Thanksgiving Day, however, Fox executives may need to speak with Olsen about a Super Bowl LIX assignment.
