Watch: Florida State's no good, very bad 2024 gets even worse against Memphis

Florida State Seminoles head coach Mike Norvell.

    Florida State needs a restart.

The Seminoles' no good, very bad 2024 grew even worse on Saturday on just their second offensive play against Memphis.

Florida State running back Roydell Williams fumbled the football on a hit from Memphis defensive back An'Darius Coffey. Linebacker Chandler Martin pounced on the loose ball at Florida State's 25-yard line.

The Tigers converted the turnover into a field goal for an early 3-0 lead.

It was as disastrous a beginning as Seminoles head coach Mike Norvell could have imagined. However, it fits the early theme of Florida State's season.

Nothing has gone right for the Noles in 2024.

Florida State (0-2, 0-2 in ACC) lost its first two games to Georgia Tech and Boston College, becoming an afterthought in the ACC after beginning the season as the conference's highest-ranked team in the Associated Press poll.

Norvell is at risk of falling to 0-3 for the second time as Florida State head coach. The program lost its first four games in 2021 and finished the year 5-7.

It's a troubling sign that Florida State came out after a Week 2 bye and immediately had a miscue.

The Seminoles have been out-coached and out-matched in their first two games, and that trend is continuing in Week 3.
