    David Njoku.

The Browns were able to muster enough points in Week 2 to defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars 18-13 and earn their first win of the 2024 season.

However, Cleveland will likely need to put up more points in the future if it hopes to stay in the race for the AFC North and return to the postseason this year.

Luckily for the Browns, they may be getting back some much-needed reinforcements this week.

On Monday, head coach Kevin Stefanski left the door open for Pro Bowl tight end David Njoku to return to the field in Week 3.

"I wouldn't rule him out, yet," Stefanski said , via Andrew Siciliano.

Njoku exited Cleveland's regular-season opener against the Dallas Cowboys with an ankle injury. He was inactive for this past weekend's game as his injury was initially feared to be much worse.

"Feared to have suffered a high-ankle sprain," NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport said . "High-ankle sprains are generally four-to-six weeks. The hope is that this is on the short end."

If Njoku can return this week, it would be great timing.

On Sunday, the Browns lost wide receiver David Bell, who dislocated his hip after reeling in all three of his targets to start the game, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Bell will reportedly require surgery, which will make quarterback Deshaun Watson's receiving corps even thinner.

However, Cleveland would happily welcome Njoku back after its offense has averaged the sixth-fewest total yards per game (263.5) in the league through the first two weeks.

Getting back a player like Njoku, who amassed a career-high 81 catches for 882 yards and six touchdowns last season, would be a big boost to the offense.

Even if Njoku is healthy enough to go, the Browns may still opt to let him recover one more week as they host the struggling New York Giants (0-2) in Week 3.
