    Eli Manning.

Ex-New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady have a history of casually trolling each other online, especially since both retired from the NFL.

Over the weekend, both took their light-hearted bantering to a whole new league — literally.

Brady is a minority owner of English League One side Birmingham City, which is set to face off with overnight sensation Wrexham AFC — notably co-owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney who bought the team in 2020.

Ahead of the highly anticipated clash, McElhenny employed the help of Brady's nemesis, Manning, to expertly troll him and his team. The two-time Super Bowl MVP, over Brady no less, took to X on Friday to formally endorse Wrexham in Monday's match - and take a poke at his two big wins over the ex-Patriots passer.

Naturally, Brady responded on Saturday, the whole thing clearly appearing like a PR stunt to raise awareness for the game in the U.S.

"So, I've been working on a little response video to Eli and I'm looking around the house, but I can't find the other six of these," Brady retorted on X as he held up one of his Lombardi Trophies. "So, Rob, could you educate the Wrexham fans a bit on the history of the NFL?"

Manning quoted the response, seemingly waving the white flag on the pre-match trash talk.

But Monday, Manning came right back at Brady — this time with some superhero backup.

"Hey Tom, you made some valid points in your message and I heard them well and they hurt a little bit," Manning said in another video on X. "So, I had to bring in my ringer, he's got a few trophies of his own."

Emmy, Tony and Grammy-winning actor Hugh Jackman, well-known for his role as Wolverine in Marvel films, appeared with Manning in the video. Jackman channeled his inner Wolverine — a nod at Brady's Michigan alumnus status - and added his efforts to Wrexham's cause.

"Listen, Tom, I'm a big fan of yours," Jackman began. "But you've crossed a line. Two championships, six claws, that's eight. Don't start it. Come on, Wrexham."

The match itself was not short of any star power either. Legendary player David Beckham was spotted with Brady in the owner's suite .

In the end, Birmingham City defeated Wrexham 3-1 and snagged the top spot in League One away from McElhenney's Red Dragons. Brady now has bragging rights until the two teams meet again on Jan. 25.
