Mississippi Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have our first major upset in the SEC. The Kentucky Wildcats beat No. 6 Mississippi 20-17 just two weeks after nearly beating No. 2 Georgia at home.

The win is Kentucky's second against a top-10 opponent on the road since 1980 and its highest-ranked road win since 1977, according to ESPN .

Mississippi had a chance to tie the game late, but kicker Caden Davis missed the potential game-tying field goal wide left.

Kentucky hadn't beaten Mississippi in Oxford since 1978. With the win, it improved to 3-2 on the season, displaying that it's much better than its record says.

The Rebels (4-1) took a major hit to their SEC and College Football Playoff aspirations. The top offense in the country was held to just 17 points after combining for 220 over Weeks 1-4.

With just minutes remaining in the game, Kentucky utilized a cooky play to score its go-ahead touchdown. Tight end Josh Kattus recovered a fumble at the goal line to save what could've been a disaster for Kentucky.

Early Heisman Trophy candidate Jaxson Dart couldn't quarterback the Rebels to a game-winning touchdown drive, taking two crucial sacks near midfield and nearly fumbling the ball away.

Mississippi moves on to a touch South Carolina team in Week 6, looking to reestablish itself in a stacked SEC. Kentucky will attempt to continue its unlikely run against Vanderbilt and then Florida.
