    Tyler Huntley.

With Tua Tagovailoa out of action for the foreseeable future, the Miami Dolphins will turn to their second different quarterback in as many weeks, with Tyler Huntley tapped to start Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans. But how much can they expect from the veteran backup?

On Friday, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel explained that Huntley was getting the nod over Tim Boyle and Skylar Thompson because of his versatility and experience.

"I'm expecting him to be comfortable making plays in various ways," McDaniel said. "The biggest thing is I see him being able to utilize his skill sets within the framework of the offense and understanding it's about the collection of individuals doing their job."

Huntley has a more robust resume than most backup QBs, having started nine career games, one in the postseason. He's 3-6 in those starts but performed admirably, recording 1,389 passing yards with a 61.9 completion percentage, five touchdowns and six interceptions.

Backing up Lamar Jackson with the Baltimore Ravens for four seasons, Huntley flashed his abilities in relief of the former MVP several times. Still, those performances were with weapons he was familiar with, so it remains unclear how he'll do with the Dolphins only days after joining the team.

The Dolphins' fortunes were always going to hinge on Tagovailoa's health. With the QB's status still up in the air, Miami puts its once lofty hopes on the back of another name behind center.

Huntley has taken an interesting path to start for the Dolphins, and if he finds success, it will make a heck of a story, especially under the bright Monday night lights. Cut by the Cleveland Browns in August after signing with the team in the offseason, he returned to the Ravens, joining their practice squad before Miami scooped him up on Sept. 16.

Huntley may take advantage of the opportunity, but the Dolphins shouldn't expect too much, considering the circumstances.
