Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe.

The Alabama Crimson Tide were riding high after toppling then-No. 2 Georgia in Week 5, usurping the Texas Longhorns for the No. 1 spot in the AP rankings this week.

But the SEC's juggernauts appeared to be caught in a classic trap game, finding themselves down 13-0 in the first quarter to Vanderbilt.

It seemed to be a trap of their own making too, as the early deficit was worsened by a pick-six thrown by Crimson Tide star quarterback Jalen Milroe — a pass tipped high in the air and returned by Vanderbilt's Randon Fontenette 29 yards to the house.

The Commodores stifled Milroe in the first quarter, limiting him to just two completions (but for 63 yards) — unusual for a Heisman favorite to say the least.

Alabama was able to course correct on its next drive, however, narrowing Vanderbilt's surprising lead to 13-7 after running back Jamarion Miller broke loose for a red zone score.

Vanderbilt hasn't beaten Alabama since 1984 and not at home since 1969. So, if it holds on for the upset it would be a monumental result, and a historic flip-flop for the Crimson Tide after it's 41-34 toppling of Georgia the previous week.
