    Cody Rhodes.

WWE Bad Blood took place on Saturday in Atlanta, Ga. The Premium Live Event was an overall success, especially the opening contest, a Hell in a Cell between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, along with the final match that saw Cody Rhodes team up with Roman Reigns to face Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.

There were some big moments throughout the night. Punk defeated McIntyre courtesy of a GTS with a chain wrapped around his knee. Raquel Rodriguez returned to help Liv Morgan overcome Rhea Ripley. And, of course, the Final Boss, aka Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, made a cameo at the end of the event. Each of those moments has gone viral in its own right.

However, the most significant moment of the night happened after the show had gone off air. Kevin Owens has displayed growing animosity toward Rhodes in recent weeks, primarily due to his decision to team with Reigns against The Bloodline. On Saturday, that animosity reached a fever pitch when The American Nightmare was attacked by Owens in the parking lot following the completion of Bad Blood.

Fans in attendance shared their recording of the attack on social media. However, the WWE version will likely be produced on the next episode of "SmackDown." Owens' attack on Rhodes is the next step in a developing storyline. Rhodes could now be pushed closer to Reigns, and Jimmy Uso ( who returned at Bad Blood ), as one of his closest allies, has now betrayed him.

Of course, there is also the potential for a big feud between Owens and Rhodes, which could force Randy Orton to choose sides. Or, this could be the catalyst for Rhodes to potentially make a brand switch back to "Raw."

Whatever WWE's creative team has in place, pitting Owens and Rhodes against each other opens up a wealth of storyline opportunities across the board. Rhodes is the most wanted man in WWE due to his status as the Undisputed Champion. Without Owens watching his back, he must find a new group to help him stay on top, and the question will be where that help comes from.

WWE's storytelling has been exceptional over the last 18-24 months. The company is using every tool available to keep things fresh and exciting, and now fans worldwide will be waiting to see how Rhodes and Owens react to Saturday night's fallout. If they weren't already, things are about to get a lot more interesting in the WWE Universe.
