    Haason Reddick.

The Haason Reddick saga with the New York Jets has taken another unlikely turn.

It's not unusual to see players part ways with their representation during a contract dispute. However, according to insider Ian Rapoport, it's the other way around in the case of Reddick, whose agency, CAA, dropped the two-time Pro Bowler as a client on Thursday.

CAA represents many of the NFL's most well-paid stars, including Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott, and inked 12 first-round picks from the 2024 draft. For an agency of that height to give a player of Reddick's caliber the boot, it's not hard to gather that there was a significant disconnect between the two parties.

Acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles in March, Reddick seemed happy to be a Jet. However, somewhere along the line, feelings changed, and instead of honoring his contract, the edge-rusher decided he was worth more.

Brought in to bolster the Jets pass rush, Reddick continues to hold out, which could cost him an estimated $21.75 million should it last through the end of the 2024 season.

Unable to find common ground or repair the broken trust, the situation has had a bizarre feel. Jets owner Woody Johnson recently said, " You have to be part psychologist " to understand what's happening.

Johnson even directly addressed Reddick rather aggressively, while keeping the door open for him to join the team.

"Haason, get in your care, drive down [Interstate] 95, and come to the New York Jets — and we can meet you and give you an escort right into the building, Johnson said. "You'll fit right in. You're going to love it here, and you're going to feel welcome."
