South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Shane Beamer.

A wild flurry from South Carolina saw the Gamecocks take a third-quarter lead over Alabama.

After the Tide jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the Saturday afternoon game, South Carolina (3-2, 1-2 in SEC) entered halftime only trailing by two after some improbable plays.

On a fourth-and-9 from Alabama's 36-yard line with 1:43 remaining in the second quarter, South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers connected with wide receiver Mazeo Bennett Jr. for a touchdown to cut the Tide lead in half.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe had an intentional grounding penalty in the end zone on the first play of the ensuing possession to shrink the lead further.

Right before the half, Milroe had another poor play when he was intercepted by South Carolina defensive back Jalon Kilgore, who returned the pick 31 yards, allowing the Gamecocks to kick a field goal as time expired in the first half.

After last week's stunning 40-35 loss at Vanderbilt, that first-half ending is the last thing Alabama (4-1, 1-1 in SEC) needed, and it only got worse from there.

The Gamecocks finally took a 19-14 lead during the third quarter when running back Raheim Sanders powered into the end zone from just a few yards out.

Alabama may have its work cut out for it as it tries to retake the advantage and secure its second SEC win.
