New York Giants star rookie attends concert while in concussion protocol

While a key member of the New York Giants is in concussion protocol, that didn't stop him from attending a large concert taking place in the stadium that the Giants call home.

While Malik Nabers is currently in protocol and will miss New York's Week 6 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals — the second straight game that Nabers will sit out — he attended the sold-out Travis Scott concert that took place at MetLife Stadium on Wednesday.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll was asked about Nabers attending the concert and responded that will be keeping his thoughts "in-house". The head coach did say that attending the concert was not a violation of protocol.

Obviously, this isn't a great look for the young wide receiver but it also serves as a reminder that athletes are humans. They have interests outside of their professions and shouldn't be chastised for enjoying them. While the bass-filled music of Travis Scott likely isn't great for someone dealing with concussion symptoms, Nabers doesn't appear to have broken any rules.

Whenever Nabers returns to the field, he will serve as a big lift to a Giants offense that will surely miss him. The rookie is New York's leading wide receiver with 35 receptions for 386 yards and three touchdowns in four games.

Luckily for Giants fans, New York was able to defeat the Seahawks in Week 5, but the Bengals could be a tougher challenge with a high-powered offense featuring Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

So while this might be a learning experience for Nabers, fans can't forget that pro athletes exist for more than just providing fans joy on Sunday's. These athletes have their own families and are free to do whatever they want in their spare time. You might not agree with their decisions but at the end of the day, it is their decision.
