NFL Week 6 losers: Porous defenses, poor coaching define slate

With most of the Week 6 NFL schedule in the books it is time to take a look at some of the biggest losers from around the league.

Jacksonville Jaguars HC Doug Pederson

At this point it seems to be a matter of "when" and not "if" the Jaguars make a head-coaching change. Their 35-16 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon dropped them to 1-5 on the season and they were not even remotely competitive. The defense made a Chicago offense led by a rookie quarterback look unstoppable, while the Jaguars offense looked out of sync and bad all day.

Cleveland Browns HC Kevin Stefanski

With yet another dismal performance in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Deshaun Watson is playing like one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL right now and as long as head coach Kevin Stefanski keeps sticking with him without any thought of making a switch, that has to fall on the coach. The Browns have talent on their offense. They have a capable NFL quarterback in Jameis Winston as their backup. They cannot keep punting on this season by running Watson out there and letting him play. Who cares how much money he is making or what his contract is? The play on the field speaks volumes.

New England Patriots running backs

This was always going to be a challenge for the Patriots with top running back Rhamondre Stevenson out of the lineup, but his replacements were as bad as should have been expected against the Houston Texans. Patriots running backs combined for just 44 yards on 21 rushing attempts, averaging out to just 2.1 yards per carry. The team's leading rusher on the day? Rookie quarterback Drake Maye with 38 yards on five attempts.

Arizona Cardinals run defense

The Cardinals entered Sunday with one of the NFL's worst run defenses and they had no answer for anything the Packers were doing, They allowed Green Bay to rush for 179 yards and nearly five yards per carry, just consistently grinding the game away. They also allowed Jordan Love to get off four touchdown passes, but it was the running game that really set the tone.

Tennessee Titans QB Will Levis

At some point the Titans have to consider making a quarterback switch if they are serious about trying to compete this season. They spent a lot of money on veteran players this offseason and have saddled them with a second-year quarterback who makes too many mistakes and is not consistent enough in the passing game. Levis had just 95 yards passing against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. The only Titans win of the season came in the one game Levis sat out most of it due to an injury. Mason Rudolph is waiting. He might give them a better chance.

Dallas Cowboys defense

Yes, the Cowboys defense is dealing with key injuries to key players. But this is not a new development for the Cowboys at home, where they have lost four consecutive games and given up nearly 450 yards per game. Sunday's 47-9 game against the Detroit Lions reached the point in the end where the Lions were just literally toying with them.

They also did this in the third quarter with 30-point lead.

That is a bad look for the Cowboys.

New Orleans Saints defense

Speaking of bad defense, the New Orleans Saints knew they were going to be in for a challenge without starting quarterback Derek Carr and needed their defense to step up and keep things close. They did not step up and keep things close. They allowed 51 points and 594 total yards to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Even with Carr in the lineup that sort of defensive performance is not going to work.
