Watch: Aaron Judge busts out of slump with first home run of playoffs

Aaron Judge might finally be breaking out of his postseason slump.

The New York Yankees superstar centerfielder hit his first home run of the 2024 playoffs in the bottom of the seventh inning of Game 2 of the ALCS on Tuesday night.

It was Judge's 14th career playoff home run and ended what had been a lengthy home run drought for him this postseason.

Judge has shown some signs of starting to work his way out of his funk, drawing some walks, hitting sacrifice flies and making productive at-bats. But the Yankees still want — and need — to see more of an impact from their best player.

That finally happened here.

Tuesday has been a crazy game for Judge outside of his home run. He started the scoring in the bottom of the first inning when his sky-high pop-up was dropped on the infield, resulting in the Yankees taking a 1-0 lead.

Then later in the game, Judge came to bat with the bases loaded after the Guardians intentionally walked Juan Soto. Judge did make them pay a little bit with a sacrifice fly. The homer, however, is the one that Yankees fans are going to remember from this game.
