Buffalo Bills running back Ray Davis.

In fantasy football, opportunity is everything. These little-known running backs haven’t seen much action, but thanks to injuries to starting players, they have an excellent chance to break out in Week 7.

    RB: Ray Davis (Buffalo Bills)

Actually, Davis broke out in Week 6 with 18.2 fantasy points. Filling in for an injured James Cook, Davis ran for 97 yards on 20 carries and caught all three targets for 55 yards. He played well ahead of veteran Ty Johnson, who had four carries for 34 yards and was crucial to the team’s three-point win over the Jets on "Monday Night Football."

The 128th pick in this year’s draft had 21 touchdowns and 1,452 total yards with Kentucky last season, setting the school’s single-season scoring record and leading the SEC with 126 points while earning a First-Team All-SEC nomination.

Cook’s toe injury appears to be better, as he was a full participant in Thursday’s practice, but Davis popped up on the injury report with a calf issue. Even if Cook plays while Davis sits, the latter is at least worth a stash with 11 games left in the regular season.

Davis is available in 69% of Yahoo leagues .

    RB: Tyler Goodson (Indianapolis Colts)

Trey Sermon led Indianapolis with 18 carries but managed only 29 yards in the Colts' 20-17 victory over the Titans last week. Goodson had just eight carries but rushed for a team-high 55 yards with another 14 yards on four receptions.

Both played in relief of Jonathan Taylor, who missed his second-straight game with a high ankle sprain. He’ll likely miss a third game when the Colts host the Dolphins in Week 7, but more importantly, Sermon is dealing with a knee injury that kept him out of Wednesday’s practice.

He was back on the field the next day, but even if Sermon is fully healthy, Goodson was clearly the better back against Tennessee. He could have another good day against a Dolphins defense allowing the third-most fantasy points (27.8) to running backs per game.

Goodson is available in 90% of Yahoo leagues.

RB: Isaac Guerendo (San Francisco 49ers)

Guerendo saw a season-high 10 carries and led the team in rushing with 99 yards as starting running back Jordan Mason tried to work through a shoulder injury against the Seahawks last week. He struggled for most of the game before ripping off a 76-yard run on San Francisco’s final drive. The rookie running back could have scored on the play but allowed himself to be tackled shy of the end zone, wisely forcing Seattle to burn a pair of timeouts.

Mason remained limited in Thursday’s practice, which could mean lots of carries for Guerendo when the Niners host the Chiefs in what should be a high-scoring game on Sunday afternoon.

Guerendo is available in 74% of Yahoo leagues.
