7/22 In the past 8-days, Central Arizona Fire has responded to two residential fires caused by lithium batteries. Officials say Friday they responded to a home in the area of Alwick Way and Sutton Trail in Prescott Valley after a battery being charged for a Segway caught fire. The homeowner noticed the battery getting hot and unplugged it, but 5-minutes later heard a pop and found the garage on fire. Crews quickly doused the fire, limiting the damage. Firefighters also responded to a house fire recently in which the lithium battery on a skateboard caught fire while being charged.
