1 arrested, 2 wanted for trying to introduce contraband to Yazoo County correctional facility

YAZOO COUNTY, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Yazoo County deputies arrested one man and are searching for two others for allegedly trying to introduce contraband into a correctional facility.

Investigators said they received a tip about the crime on Saturday, June 22.

Deputies said the three suspects were located at a hotel in Yazoo City. According to investigators, the men were seen exiting the hotel with bags. They got into a white Honda that was parked in front of the hotel.

Officials said the deputies tried to stop the vehicle on Jerry Clower Boulevard, but the driver fled the scene. After crashing into a ditch, investigators said two suspects jumped out of the vehicle with the two bags.

The driver was arrested at the scene, and the two other men are still wanted. Investigators said one of the bags was recovered near the vehicle.
