Mayor Cuts Ribbon For Main Street Treats
Mayor Tommy Reynolds and the Water Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors welcomed Main Street Treats with a ribbon cutting last Thursday. Owner Gena Dunn (left of mayor) shared the hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m.; and from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. CTE Center nearing completion, awarded $5,000
The new Long Beach School District Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center will open this fall, and students in the CTE’s “Whiskers and Waggers Fun Hub-Extended Stay” project will enjoy a $5,000 grant from Sparklight to tackle their initiative to revitalize the City of Long Beach Police Department’s animal shelter. Participating students will gain career and technical training skills related to engineering, construction and welding, as they improve the physical, emotional and social well-being of animals awaiting adoption. Participating Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) students will also earn volunteer hours.

Sophomore wide receiver Cayden 'Honeycomb' Lee has created plenty of buzz this offseason and it has only increased since the start of fall camp for the 2024 Ole Miss Rebels. Last season Lee saw limited playing time on the field as a true freshman, but made the most of his opportunities, hauling in five receptions for 114 yards (22.8 YPC) to go along with a pair of touchdowns and a 'next-man-up' start in Ole Miss' Peach Bowl victory.
Practice Notebook: Day 11 Includes Three Live Scrimmage Periods
The team was back in full pads this morning at the Rock, and went through three live 11 on 11 scrimmage periods. Once again the offense was productive, and doing so with several big explosive plays in the process. Most of the explosive plays this offense has created over camp have not been about taking deep shots, but more about generating mismatches out in space, for playmakers who have then been able to create yards after the catch.
