Volos, Greece — More than 100 tons of dead fish were collected in and around the port of Volos in central Greece after a mass die-off linked to extreme weather fluctuations, authorities said Thursday. The dead freshwater fish filled the bay 200 miles north of Athens, and nearby rivers. Water levels in the area were swollen by floods in 2023, followed by months of severe drought. Texas Inmate Exonerated After 37 Years
A Texas inmate has been exonerated 37 years after he was convicted of robbery and murder. Benjamin Spencer walked out of a Dallas courtroom yesterday after the judge approved a motion to declare him innocent of the crime. Spencer was convicted in 1987 after witnesses testified he robbed and killed Dallas businessman Jeffrey Young. Those witnesses have all admitted to giving false testimony. He was released from prison three years ago but had been waiting for a judge to make a decision about his innocence. He will be entitled to a payout from the state of Texas to compensate him for his time in prison.
