OAKRIDGE, Ore. – Officials have increased the urgency of an earlier evacuation notice as firefighters work to contain the High Prairie Fire north of Oakridge. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office said the area of east High Prairie Road near milepost 5, including Dead Mountain, Mountain View, Huckleberry and High Prairie Loop, are under a Level Two (Be Set) evacuation notice. YONCALLA MAN CITED FOR HIT AND RUN
A Yoncalla man was cited after a hit and run incident on Wednesday afternoon. A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 4:15 p.m. a vehicle drove off the roadway in the 500 block of Melrose Road, at the former Kruse Farms location. It sideswiped a telephone pole causing it to sheer off from the bottom. The male driver then left the location.
LAKESIDE MAN JAILED FOR ELUDING IN A STOLEN VEHICLE
A Lakeside man was jailed for eluding police in a stolen vehicle on Wednesday. A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 7:20 a.m. a deputy received information about a pickup stolen from Florence. It was found about nine miles south of the intersection with Highway 126.
