Jensen Mast of Reedsport, OR graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Biology from Millikin University. Jensen was one of more than 270 graduates recognized during the 2024 Spring Commencement ceremonies at the Kirkland Fine Arts Center on May 19, 2024. Millikin University is a private, comprehensive university with a diverse student population of approximately 1,900 undergraduate and graduate students. ARLINGTON, Texas – Steven Kwan and Adley Rutschman joined exclusive MLB All-Star company Tuesday when they both started for the American League. The duo became just the second set of collegiate teammates to appear in the same starting lineup at an All-Star Game. Riddle native Drake George selected by Giants in 13th round of MLB Draft
Riddle High School graduate Drake George was selected 388th overall in the 13th round by the San Francisco Giants on the final day of the Major League Baseball draft Tuesday. George spent the past three seasons at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. The junior led the Warriors with 13 starts last spring and finished the season with a 6-2 record. George, who went by Drake Borschowa while at Riddle High School, had a 4.91 ERA with 74 strikeouts and 21 walks in 66 innings. He was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference co-Pitcher of the Year.
5 FIRE STARTS CONFIRMED IN THE DOUGLAS DISTRICT
5 fire starts have been confirmed in the Douglas District following late afternoon lightning storms on Tuesday. A release from the Douglas Forest Protective Association said the storms swept across the district at around 5:00 p.m. Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said strikes were recorded from Glendale to Elkton on the west side of the district and from Tiller to the north of Glide on the east side. Pope said DFPA immediately initiated aerial and ground lightning reconnaissance.

Man escapes Oregon prison, found 30 years later in Georgia with stolen identity
Authorities have captured Steven Craig Johnson, who escaped from an Oregon state prison nearly 30 years ago and assumed the identity of a deceased child. Johnson, 70, was arrested at an apartment complex in Macon, Georgia, on Tuesday by the US Marshals Service and its fugitive task forces. He had been living under the name William Cox since 2011.
