Cottage Grove woman sentenced to prison for Facebook threats, weapon arsenal found
COTTAGE GROVE , Ore. (KATU) — A woman in Cottage Grover was sentenced to federal prison today for threatening violence against her coworkers on Facebook. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office- District of Oregon, Elizabeth Ballestros West, 56, was sentenced to six months and three weeks in federal prison and three years’ supervised release.
ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL WOMAN ON 20-COUNT WARRANT
Roseburg Police jailed a woman on a 20-count warrant on Monday. An RPD report said 6:40 p.m. officers contacted 22-year-old Amber Thompson in the 700 block of Southeast Stephens Street. Thompson’s warrant was for aggravated identity theft, 15 counts of identity theft, 3 counts of computer crime and for 2nd degree theft. She was detained on $50,000 bail.
LIGHTNING RECONNSAISSANCE AFTER TUESDAY LIGHTNING STORMS
The Douglas Forest Protective Association initiated aerial and ground lightning reconnaissance following predicted lighting storms late Tuesday afternoon. DFPA Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said at approximately 5:00 p.m. lightning storms swept across the Douglas District. Pope said strikes were recorded from Glendale to Elkton on the west side of the district and from Tiller to north of Glide on the east side.
