Authorities have identified the second of the two corpses found in Babylon and West Babylon in Suffolk County, Long Island. Police were first alerted to the presence of human remains scattered across Southards Pond Park in Babylon on Thursday, Feb. 29. Further investigation with cadaver dogs, revealed more remains in Bethpage State Park and residential wooded areas of West Babylon on March 5. The first of the two victims was identified as 59-year-old Donna Conneely. Then on Friday, March 22, authorities announced the identity of the second victim to be 53-year-old Malcolm Brown. The pair was believed to have been in a domestic partnership at the time of their murders. Their last known address is located in Yonkers.

    Suspects Arrested

Authorities had previously arrested four suspects following a search of a Railroad Avenue residence in Amityville. Steven Brown, Jeffrey Mackey, Amanda Wallace, and Alexis Nieves now face charges of hindering prosecution, tampering with evidence, and concealing a human corpse. None have yet to be be charged with murder. According to court documents, the four are believed to have taken “ sharp instruments, multiple body parts, and other related items ” out of the house sometime around the discovery of the corpses. The search of the house did not reveal any additional human remains. All four suspects have since been released with ankle monitors, but Wallace was later rearrested after being caught shoplifting. The release of the suspects has led Republican State Senator Anthony Palumbo of Long Island to introduce new legislation that would make it a felony to dismember or conceal a human corpse .

Police have maintained that they believe the murders to be an isolated, targeted incident. The possibility exists that the victims were connected to a love triangle. They have therefore assured local residents that there is no imminent threat to public safety. However, authorities are asking that anyone with information contact the Suffolk County Police Department. Those with information call call 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-Tips.
