MorDance ballet company has announced their official Spring Season schedule. These performances follow their recent expansion into their own studio space in Yonkers. As the company's first season in Yonkers, this schedule inaugurates what it plans to be a long-standing community partnership.

    A Bold Movement

Founded by Artistic Director Morgan McEwen in 2014, MorDance has crafted a rich culture of innovation and creativity with its unique and captivating nature. The female-led company fosters spaces of inclusivity and diversity and will soon host performances in the city of Yonkers. These performances are in addition to their annual Manhattan season.

McEwen choreographed the upcoming Spring Season performances under the lighting design of Becky Heisler. The program begins with “On the Waterfront”, paying tribute to the legacy of Leonard Bernstein. It will masterfully combine dance and music to create a seamless immersive experience. Next, audiences are invited into an exploration of human nature and connection through, “Depths Entangled.” The last piece entitled, “Echoes of Silence,” delves into the theme of collective social change, supplemented by the folk music movement.

    Mark Your Calendars

MorDance is eagerly awaiting the beginning of its new chapter in Yonkers. The series will occur over three days, beginning on Thursday, May 2 and lasting until Saturday, May 4. The Friday, May 3 performance serves as the opening for Yonkers Arts Weekend, offering viewers an enthralling prelude to a weekend celebrating the arts.

Each show begins at 8 p.m. on the sixth floor of 86 Main Street in Yonkers.

Tickets are available online at https://www.mordance.org/calendar/yonkers-spring-2024 . Prices range from $20 for students and seniors to $30 for general admission.

These performances have been made possible through generous support from AMS Acquisitions , the New York State Council on The Arts, and the Kaleta A Doolin Foundation.
