Westchester County's first locally owned and operated Chick-fil-A restaurant opens its doors today, bringing the beloved chicken chain to the heart of Central Park Avenue. The new eatery is expected to attract large crowds, with the city of Yonkers already preparing for increased traffic in the area. Traffic controllers, extra lanes, and orange cones will be deployed to help manage the influx of vehicles. The restaurant offers two entrances: The main entrance on Central Park Avenue and a secondary entrance off Roxbury Drive. However, there is only one exit, located back onto Central Park Avenue. Israel Allmand, who began his journey with Chick-fil-A nearly two decades ago as a team member in Orlando, Florida, will lead the new Yonkers location. He plans to hire around 100 full and part-time employees. To celebrate the grand opening, the restaurant is recognizing 100 local heroes with free Chick-fil-A entrees for a year. They are also donating $25,000 to Feeding Westchester. The new Chick-fil-A is located at 2205 Central Park Ave., and will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
