Canine flu cases temporarily close Montgomery Humane Society
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - The Montgomery Humane Society will be closed until Saturday due to canine flu cases. The Humane Society says it has over 40 symptomatic dogs in the facility. Dogs in the adoption center will need to be placed in isolation and will not be available for adoption for 28 days. Adoptions of the exposed dogs will be halted for a period of four weeks.

Grant applications open for sign, façade enhancements in Selma
Two grant applications are available from the Selma Redevelopment Authority (SRA) for sign and façade enhancements in the downtown district. SRA is granting funds totaling $20,000 to improve the façades of business in the district that includes the Alabama River north to JL Chestnut and Martin Luther King Street west to Church Street, as well as six contiguous blocks enclosed by Dallas Avenue and Mabry Street.
