Volunteers give their time and talent at YCCAC Head Start & Early Head Start. A day of action at YCCAC: Volunteers from Hannaford Supermarkets, Partners Bank and the United Way of Southern Maine gathered together on June 21 to spruce up the York County Community Action Corp. (YCCAC) Head Start & Early Head Start property and home office. Despite the June heat wave that hit that week, much was accomplished by this team of energetic volunteers.
Westbrook man sentenced for hitting 4 state troopers with car in 2023
A Westbrook man was sentenced to two years in prison this week for hitting four state police troopers with his car last summer in Hollis. Tyler Croston, 25, pleaded guilty in York County Superior Court to four counts of aggravated assault and one count of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
Authorities seeks help after vandals damage boat launch in Acton
ACTON (WGME) -- The York County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help identifying the suspects who damaged a state boat launch in Acton on Monday night. Authorities say the suspect(s) tore up the gravel parking lot and ran into the stop sign at the top of the Square Pond state boat launch.
Biddeford man found guilty of murder for killing landlord in 2021
BIDDEFORD — A York County jury found a Biddeford man guilty of murder on Monday for killing the landlord who was trying to evict him from an apartment in 2021. The jury deliberated for about an hour before finding Randal J. Hennessey guilty of one count of knowing or intentional murder in the death of Douglas Michaud Jr., 31., at the building Michaud owned on Union Street in Biddeford. The judge ruled that Hennessey also is guilty of possessing a gun despite being prohibited from having one because of a 2009 felony conviction.
