    16-year-old boy dies after being struck by train in northern York County: coroner

    A 16-year-old boy died over the weekend after being struck by a train in East Manchester Township, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

    Walter Muzyk of the 700 block of York Street in East Manchester Township was pronounced dead early Monday morning at the scene, according to a news release.

    The cause of death is multiple blunt force trauma, and the manner is suicide, the release states.

    The coroner's office says Muzyk was struck by a Norfolk Southern train after intentionally placing himself in its path around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. It happened in the 800 block of Second Street in East Manchester Township.

    York County Regional Police are investigating.

    An autopsy will not be done, but routine toxicology was obtained, the release states.
