York County SPCA to offer free adoptions of dogs, cats and small animals this weekend

The York County SPCA will host a free adoption event this weekend in hopes of finding new homes for 80 animals, according to a news release.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24 and Sunday, Aug. 25 at the Brougher Companion Animal Shelter at 3159 Susquehanna Trail North in Manchester Township.

All adoption fees will be waived to celebrate Clear the Shelters month, the release states.

The shelter has dogs, cats and small animals available for adoption.

How to adopt an animal from the shelter

The York County SPCA recommends individuals complete an adoption questionnaire in advance of the event:

Those who plan to adopt an animal should bring needed items, such as carriers, collars, leashes and more.
