BAPS Motor Speedway posted that the young man had won a Pass Sprint Series race at the race track several years ago. He also had helped his father make improvements at the speedway.

Craker was a "good kid" who grew up around the speedway, general manager Kolten Gouse said. The young man was involved in quarter midget racing and later moved up to a 305 sprint car.

He and his father, George, helped with renovations at the speedway, Gouse said.

Racing is a tight-knit community, and others who have raced with Craker spoke have spoken highly of him, Grouse said. The young man was respectful and "meant a lot to a lot of people."

"It's a sad situation," Grouse said.

Craker was a 2019 graduate of Red Land High School .

The crash happened just before 7 p.m. in the area of Alpine Road and Boat Mooring 3 Road in Warrington Township, the coroner said in a news release.

Craker reportedly lost control of his vehicle and it hit a tree. He was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, the coroner's office said.
