Bus service between downtown York and the West Manchester Town Center will increase starting Sunday, Oct. 13, according to Rabbittransit.

The buses on the fixed route 1W will run approximately every 15 minutes during peak periods on weekdays, a news release states. The buses currently depart every 30 minutes.

The route is between the Downtown York Transfer Center and the West Manchester Town Center and travels along Carlisle Road, the release states.

The route includes the following destinations: the York Expo Center, Delco Center, Commerce Square and York Crossing, according to Rabbittransit's website.

Last year, Rabbittransit increased bus service along its fixed route 1E , which travels between downtown York and the York Mall in Springettsbury Township along East Market Street.

The transit agency says it has been a success, citing an increase in average weekday ridership in 2024, and it "has strongly contributed to an 11% increase in ridership system-wide," the release states.
