A land dispute from 150 years ago is being fought over once again.

York is pushing to realign its boundary with Kittery , which it says is a straight line south from Brave Boat Harbor, rather than its current “meandering” nature.

The York Town Select Board is considering reigniting a legal battle to make the change while Kittery officials are urging York to avoid “aggressive actions,” according to Seacoast Online.

The border was reevaluated by consultants last month. If changed, it would “dramatically impact” 13 homes and several businesses in 85 to 95 acres.

York Select Board Chair Todd Frederick said what York does next will be placed on a future agenda.
