Five Pennsylvania girls wrestlers took home gold medals Sunday night at the USA Wrestling Junior Nationals in Fargo. N.D. Haylie Jaffe, a Kennett High School graduate and McKendree University commit, outscored her opponents 62-0 en route to the top prize at 140 pounds in the Junior Women’s freestyle bracket. Jaffe was the lone Pennsylvania gold medalist in the Junior Women’s Bracket after defeating Aleksandra Bastaic of Indiana by a 100 count.

Police identify victim of deadly crash involving moped on Interstate 81 South
MANCHESTER, Pa. — A 70-year-old York County man died of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 South Sunday night, State Police said. Richard Thornton Fletcher, of Manchester, was operating a 2015 Yamaha YW50F moped near Mile Marker 59.4 in Hampden Township at about 11:39 p.m. when he attempted to merge from the right lane to the left lane and was struck from behind by a 2023 Freightliner M2 medium-duty truck. The impact caused Fletcher to fall off his vehicle, according to State Police.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man accused of walking off his work release program, according to the Office. Karl Zimmerman allegedly said he was going to orientation at work around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 15 before walking away from the Cumberland County Prison Work Release Center.
