Bars toast new law making 'Happy Hour' legal once again
Restaurant and bar owners and patrons can toast one new state law that took effect on July 1. After nearly four decades, Happy Hour is once again legal in Indiana. The practice of offering hourly drink specials was banned in 1985 in an effort to curtail binge drinking and drunk driving. But in March, Governor Eric Holcomb signed House Bill 1086, making Happy Hour legal again.

Study shows more than 340,000 acres of Indiana farmland gone

The inventory conducted by the Indiana State Department of Agriculture determined the acreage of parcels devoted to farming fell by a net total of 345,682 acres to slightly less than 18 million acres. New Castle man arrested in police officer's stabbing
NEW CASTLE, Ind. — A New Castle man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly stabbed a city police officer in the arm. Dustin B. Sidwell, 36, was preliminarily charged with attempted murder and criminal recklessness. He was being held in the Henry County Jail under a surety bond of $106,500 and a cash bond of $6,450.
