Purdue Swimmers excelled at USA Swimming's Speedo Summer Championships, securing 6 medals with 9 scoring finishes. Notably, Maxwell Blume and Brady Samuels led the team with 5th place finishes in the 100m breast and 100m fly, respectively, achieving personal best times. LCM (50 meters) Virginia commit Thomas Mercer swam to the win in the boys 200 IM on the final night of competition in Indianapolis at NCSAs. Mercer touched in a 2:02.17, about half a second off his best of a 2:01.52 that he swam last month for 30th at US Olympic Trials. Mercer improved on his time from this meet a year ago as he swam a 2:02.99 for 2nd last year.

Hoosier AM/FM is selling its trio of stations in Kokomo IN to 3 Towers Broadcasting. While the terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed, 3 Towers will begin operating AC “Z92.5” WZWZ, “Rock 98.5” WMYK Peru, and Sports “The Score” 1350 WIOU Kokomo via LMA on Thursday, August 1.
