While the stress of structured learning at school is done for a while, there are some opportunities at the Yorktown Public Library this summer for unstructured (and fun) learning.

From storytelling to really big bubbles to snakes and magic, each Wednesday throughout the summer the Yorktown Public Library has programs for children, starting at 10 a.m.

In June, plan to be outside and bring a towel or folding chair: June 5 - BK Bones; June 12 Talewise; June 19 - Big Time Bubbles; June 26 - Game Warden Presentation.

July’s programs will be in the library’s meeting room.: July 3 - Wild Things Zoofari; July 10 - Texas Snake Man; July 17th - Illusions by Blake; July 24 - End of summer Party.

Each Monday, according to the library website, is Lego Monday at 4 p.m.

For young adults (13+) each month features two fun, relaxed discussions of books: June 5 - “All These Bodies” by Kendare Blake; June 19 - “Coraline” by Neil Gaiman; July 10 - “Nightfall” by Isaaac Asimov & Robert Silverberg; July 24 - “Shatter Me” by Tahereh Mafi. All discussions start at 4 p.m.
