On Monday, May 20, 2024, Yorktown I.S.D.’s Second Grade Class toured Citizens Bank. They were greeted by Connie Imes, Assistant Vice-President and Operations Supervisor, and Bobby Strieber, Yorktown Banking Center CEO. The students gathered in the lobby where Imes greeted them before escorting them to the ATM machine and they were shown how to check an account balance and withdraw money. They then proceeded to the busiest area of the bank, the drive-thru, where most deposits, payments, and withdrawals are made. The next stop was the proof department where Kristin Ckodre showed the second graders how the images of the deposits and withdrawals are scanned through our proof machine and then sent to be balanced and captured at our corporate headquarters in Kilgore, Texas.

From the bookkeeping department, the children were guided through the Records Vault where our files are kept then followed Imes to the teller window where she demonstrated how to make a deposit to an account. Jennifer Guinn then explained how to access a safe deposit box and discussed the items you could keep secure in your box and viewed some of the money kept in the vault. The students took the stairs and viewed the lobby area from the second floor before riding down in the elevator, which they all enjoyed. As a thank you for visiting, the second graders were given drinks and snacks to enjoy as well as a pencil and an activity book compliments of the bank.
