Dr. Abiódún Gòkè-Pariolá Appointed President of North Central College
The Board of Trustees has unanimously appointed Dr. Abiódún “G-P” Gòkè-Pariolá as president of North Central College for a transitional period. The College’s Board does not anticipate beginning a national presidential search before spring 2026 so there can be a focus on important priorities facing the College and higher education at this time.
Naperville Park District Offers Seminar for Children’s Health
A new fitness program, “Pull-Ups: A Simple Solution for Long Term Health,” will be held on Friday, August 2 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Fort Hill Activity Center. This instructional course will provide parents with the tools and knowledge to assist in their children’s long-term health. Studies show that kids who can perform conventional pull-ups are less likely to develop health complications as they get older, such as type 2 diabetes. Rick Osbourne, M.S. in Physical Education, will lead the program and show parents how simple and easy it is to help kids while the learn how to do pull-ups. Registration is ongoing, and a small fee is required to participate.

DuPage County Offers Veterans Resource Fair
DuPage County recently announced their Veterans Resource Fair, which will be held Wednesday, August 21, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the first floor auditorium of the JTK Administration Building at 421 N. County Farm Road in Wheaton. The event, which is hosted by the DuPage County Recorder and the Veterans Assistance Commission of DuPage County, invites veterans and their families to attend. More than 80 service agencies and community organizations will be in attendance to offer information and assistance to veterans.
