    Youngstown State University professor dies

    YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Youngstown State University Department of Communication announced that one of its professors has passed away.

    The department announced on Facebook that Dr. Max Grubb passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 22.

    Grubb was a Medina, Ohio native. According to his biography on the YSU website , he received his undergraduate degree in broadcast management from Ohio University in 1979. He earned his M.A. in media management from Kent State University in 1994. In 1999, he returned to OU and got his Ph. D in mass communication.

    The post states that Dr. Grubb loved teaching and loved interacting with students. The department said that he maintained vast connections with colleagues around the world.

    YSU said Dr. Grubb enjoyed taking his students abroad on regularly planned global media systems tours of London and Paris. He was in the process of planning a London internship program. Dr. Grubb was deeply involved with the Broadcast Education Association serving in multiple leadership positions over the years.

    The department said it would post more information on his passing at a later time once it receives it.
