The city was founded on June 27, 1796. It was on that day that John Young came up the Mahoning River and decided this was the place he would stay. The rest is history.

There’s a party Wednesday night at the Tyler History Center to celebrate. The free event will kick off at 5 p.m.

The festivities will include cake, refreshments and a guided walking tour of the historic Spring Common.
