YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A Youngstown man Thursday was indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury on several sex charges after someone complained of inappropriate pictures on a cell phone.

Damaris Grant, 43, faces eight counts of rape, a first-degree felony; four counts of sexual battery, a third-degree felony; three counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, a third-degree felony; and five counts of child endangering, a second-degree felony.

Grant is currently in the county jail on $50,000 bond that was set after he was arraigned April 19 on six charges of pandering obscenity involving a minor. He was arrested following an investigation by detectives with the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office.

That investigation began March 28, when a female juvenile told investigators that Grant had several inappropriate pictures of her on his phone.

The investigators worked for the county Children Services Board.

A copy of the indictment in the case was not available at the time of this report.
