YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A man arrested on a gun charge in March was sentenced Monday to one year of probation in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Judge R. Scott Krichbaum gave the sentence to Roosevelt Lane, 47, who pleaded guilty on May 21 to a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm, a third-degree felony.

The charges stem from an arrest after a traffic stop at East Dewey and Homestead avenues. Police found a gun in the car while they searched it, reports said.

Prosecutors recommended probation because Lane was last arrested in 2007, and the gun he had when he was arrested by city police belonged to his girlfriend.
