Marlyne Celestin, 34, is charged with setting a July 9 fire at a home in the 3600 block of Neilson Avenue. Her bond was set at $50,000 and she is scheduled to be back in court next week.

Fire investigator Charles Hodge said the fire started on the front porch. There were no injuries.

The charge is a second-degree felony.

Police reports said officers were called to the home for a fight and a fire. When they arrived, a man told them he had been fighting with Celestin and that she had set his couch on fire.

Reports said Celestin was there when officers arrived but appeared to be very drunk. She was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for an evaluation, reports said. Reports said she admitted setting the fire as she was being admitted to the hospital.
